Have you heard the word!? We're running a contest to give away these amazing Q-Workshop dice. See this post for more details on how to enter. Keep checking back tomorrow through Sunday for live blogging and posting pictures right from the floor of the convention center!
We all arrived at Indy today (with some of us making a pitstop at the most despicable of rest stops this side of the Mississippie) and are incredibly excited for the next four days. We checked around the convention center, spent way, way too long registering our Gencon auction items, and everyone buy me got their badge. Since I'm officially working a press badge this year, I need to pick my badge up at the press room tomorrow morning. It's a little nerve-wracking, even with all the confirmation emails printed out and with me, to not have my badge yet. God-willing the line isn't terrible tomorrow morning. Why don't they pass out press badges before Thursday morning? You see this would be a convenience to the press, you know, us guys who would actually write up our experiences to share with everyone at home. It was just stupid and still doesn't sit with me well (this is a much longer story, but I don't want to harp on the negative for too long since I'm at FRICKIN' GENCON!).
Looking at this weekend, I'm going to be incredibly busy - busier than any Gencon before now. Not only do I have several games I'm signed up to play including a game of Dread, Geist, and a session in the True Dungeon, but I've got several seminars and workshops I'm looking forward to attend (which I haven't really done much of in the past). Let's not forget about the awesomeness that is the Gencon auction and the amazing Exhibitor hall. Beyond that, I've got a huge list of creators I'm really, really excited for a chance to meet and talk about their games with. Here's my short list of companies I'm hoping to talk to tomorrow:
White Wolf
Petroglyph Games
Bully Pulpit
Burning Wheel
AEG
Bastion (of Ex Illis fame)
Green Ronin
Pinnacle Entertainment
Fantasy Flight Games
Wizkids
Wizards of the Coast
Cubicle 7
Other Indie Games (tons of 'em)
Really it's my whole Gencon list, but that's just off the top of my head, and I know I'm missing some. I'm extremely excited and looking forward to meeting the folks of these companies in person in my capacity as a member of the Press.
