Roll the Dice - 5/13/10

We'd like to introduce a new kind of post here at The Hopeless Gamer. A lot of my favorite blogs often do a "links" post on a regular basis, and we thought doing something similar for the world of gaming would be a good idea, so here we are! The name "Roll the Dice" comes form your willingness to take a chance on a link and click it. So click it already! Today's RtD has a heavy focus on cool rpg.net forum threads, but we're open to linking anything game related. On with the links!

• Some people really like exercising their personal demons. Others just post about their own personal hell in rpg form.

• Unknown Armies is one of those RPG books I'd love to read, but probably not play. Here's some good visual reasons why. (some of the pictures are NSF your sanity)

• Here's a question I've never asked myself: do we really need an initiative system in RPG's?

• Who doesn't love a good RPG (real-life) horror story thread? Come see one in its infancy!

• We here at The Hopeless Gamer have recently got a little obsessed with Ed Brubaker's Sleeper series. This thread seems to offer some good inspiration for how to run a game like it.

• With my continuing endeavors to offer a multimedia experience in my games, there's nothing like a good discussion on music in RPG's.

• Hear Me Roar Indeed, now I just want to know the answer to this simple question, when is Winter Coming?

• It's hard to find a good browser RPG, but I believe Echo Bazaar fits the description! (you'll need a twitter account to play, and if you make a new one, why not follow me?)
