Hey, just in case you wanted more reasons to buy WHFRPG 3rd edition...

As long as I don't own a single item in FFG's new Warhammer Fantasy RPG 3rd edition, I might as well spout off about their new product announcement.

Sure I could talk about the incredibly badass art or the fact that it's a great product for someone like me who doesn't know a whole damn lot about the people and places of the Warhammer Fantasy world.

I could do that, or I could just talk about the most exciting part - it's another box set. I've read rumors and theories that they'd take future releases in this direction. A campaign in a box is one of the most exciting things out there for a gaming nerd (at least this Hopeless gaming nerd). I gotta imagine we're going to get lots of bits and pieces that are going to be useful for other campaigns or original stories in these things. Sure, the price might be quite a bit, but compare it to D&D 4e's campaign books, and I'm guessing these aren't going to be more than $50.00 a piece.

We really don't know much this is going to cost or any real information about it. I can't help it though: I'm probably the biggest sucker on the block, but FFG has a good track record with us and the setting still seems awesome.

  1. Fantasy Flight has The Gathering Storm listed at $39.95, below your $50.

    And a Box Set! Yay!

  2. Hey, look at that! Thanks for doing the research! Yes, 39.95 is quite awesome and very attractive compared to the Forgotten Realms or Eberron 4th edition campaign books.
