The Hopeless Gamer at c2e2

We were fortunate enough again this year to make it to the second annual Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo, or c2e2, again this year, and it was a complete blast. We were there for only about 24 hours over the course of Friday and Saturday, but there's a ton of highlights that spring to mind. Over the course of the next week I'll be writing about some of our experiences from the celebrities to the panels to the insane comic book deals we found, it was a really great experience that I can't recommend enough to people who aren't sure if they want to make the trip to Chicago.

I don't have a whole lot to say right now, but it's been a couple of days, and rather than leave an empty front page here (although you guys really delivered on my post about completing a campaign, and that's much appreciated!) I just wanted to give a little teaser. I also want to say that I officially survived another con, albeit with a bit of con crud for good measure.

  1. Another gamer's perspective on this years C2E2? Yes, please. Looking forward to the full write-up!

  2. I was really hoping that we could have made it this year, but WittCon (our home convention) was on the same date.

We went last year and had a blast, but the gaming scene was pretty lacking. Changes there, I'm guessing?

    Perhaps next year!

  3. I hope it was better than mine. The BG section had a lending library, but no one really playing on Friday. There was MTG besides that. I didn't look as hard as I could have (despite having brought along Fiasco and Microscope just in case). I didn't have a chance to check through on Saturday.

  4. Yeah, my experience was actually pretty similar to yours Lowell. The gaming area, while nicer than last year's still looked very, very weak. It doesn't help that it's only a two and a half day con, and they had a ton of other cool stuff to check out as well. My coverage will be mostly talking about the stuff I did do, and while I'll be aiming it towards gaming in general, it's much more towards the comic/entertainment aspect of the show.
